Short stories

Wilkie Martin has written many short stories. The following is a selection:

• Head Over Heels

  A short story written in 2007 for the Gloucester '1000' year celebrations is about a young man finding fulfillment and love while accidentally taking part in the Cheese Rolling. A collection of the works marking this event, that includes 'Head Over Heels', was published in 2008 by Gloucestershire University as 'Write Around Gloucestershire'.

• Jeremy Pratt

  There are five Jeremy Pratt short stories.
   

  • That Prat off the Telly

    This is a story about a Christmas carol concert where despite the absence of marmosets and Morris dancers, Jeremy's report still goes wrong.

  • Johnny Deep - World Champion

    This is a radio interview with Johnny Deep, about being the World Champion breath-hold diver.
    This has been read on Corinium Radio.

  • Johnny Deep and the Big Tease

    An unfortunate encounter with a candyfloss machine. Wilkie read this at the Writers in the Brewery evening on 26 November 2009.
     

  •  Johnny Deep and the mouth bow

    An experience in time travel to interview an early musical pioneer.
     

  • Jeremy Pratt and the Nativity

    It is all Catt and no dogs at the Nativity when Jeremy Pratt is involved. Wilkie read this at theWriters in the Brewery evening on 10th December 2009.

     

• The Deadbeats

  A story, showing the corrupting affects of fame on the lead-singer in the group 'The Deadbeats'. This story has been read on Corinium Radio.
   

• All in the same boat

  A fairy story written for the Act on CO2 competition on the HarperCollins Authonomy website. This story was been read at Writer in the Brewery on 28th January 2010.
   

• Unfortunate entanglement

  A story of drug crime on the high seas. This story was read at Writer in the Brewery on 27th February 2010.
