Darkes' Secret

Initially inspired by the tale of Jack the giant killer. Darkes' Secret is the tale of a young blacksmith who flees his home village when his father is found dead and everyone believes  he is responsible for the death. Jack has never left his home village before, and he now finds himself lost in a world he doesn't recognize and finds difficult to understand.

Assisted by some new-age travelers, he survives a frightening encounter with the terrifying 'Preacher' who pursues him with deadly intent. Jack then in the company of Sarah and Harry, and  Buster the dog, sets out to discover the mysteries of his past and how it is related to the sinister Darke family.

The novel Darkes' Secret is now on hold pending a rewrite, and while other writing is being completed.
