Writers in the Brewery

If you are interested in hearing local writing then come along to Writers in the Brewery held in the Theatre of New Brewery Arts, Cirencester at 7pm (for 7.30pm) to 9pm on the last Thursday (normally) of every month (£3 entry fee).

The next event is on the 25th March 2010 the guest speaker will be children's author  Jenny Jones. There is a £3 entry fee (unless you are on the creative writing course on Thursday evenings at the Brewery Arts).

Then The Blue Gate Poets from Swindon on the 29th April and Ulster poet Nigel McLoughlin on 27th May.

Graffiti magazine (run by Catchword) includes a writing competition in each edition. The winner can read their entry at the Writers in the Brewery evening.

Other local writing competitions and events

Gloucester Writers Network (GWN) run a competition with presentation of the winning poems and stories at the Autumn Cheltenham Literary Festival.

Corinium Radio run a writing competition Write Out Loud where the winners can read their entries live on air. The next event will be Thursday 1st July 2010 to Sunday 4th July 2010.
